Maximizing the Financial Advantages of LandConservation: Advanced Seminar on Conservation Easementshelps landowners and land use professionals meet conservation, financial and planning goals. The program promotes the advantages of easements to increase their use in land management planning. Participants leave this event with a better understanding of the tax code, the easement process, the valuation of conserved land and the potential rewards (and risks). Instructors are experts in their respective fields including tax law, planning, mineral rights and appraisal. The knowledge and skills received at this event help professionals more effectively serve their clients or jurisdictions. Land use professionals and planners learn how to use conservation easements as part of a holistic development plan. These plans meet preservation goals while motivating property owners with tax incentives. Landowners gain a clearer understanding of a complex process and better preparation to find highest benefit from conserving their property. The intended audiences include attorneys, appraisers, accountants, land managers, realtors, developers, planners, land trusts and other land use professionals.
