The Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve is hosting an Apalachicola Regional Stewardship Alliance (ARSA) Invasive Species Workshop for Land Managers on April 27th from 9AM-3PM at the Reserve’s Nature Center in Eastpoint. This workshop will feature speakers from The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Florida Natural Areas Inventory (FNAI), and FWC’s Invasive Plant Management Section. Topics of discussion will include:

  • early detection and rapid response methods and plant identification,
  • threats to the region,
  • decontamination do’s and don’ts,
  • funding opportunities for managing invasive species and
  • issues with phragmites- native or not?
