This is a one day workshop that will take place January 14th from 8:00am to 4pm.
This workshop is the first of Grand Bay’s Habitat Series and is intended for science professionals, naturalists, and resource managers who would like to learn more about the ecological aspects, management, and conservation of Mississippi habitats. It is designed to provide an introduction to MS coastal habitats.
Experts will give short presentations on the following topics:
- Natural Habitat Drivers
- Paleo-climate & Biogeography
- Historical Ecology
- Pine Savanna & Flatwoods
- Salt Marshes
- Maritime Forest & Shell Middens
- Sea Grasses
- Natural Beaches
- Freshwater Wetlands
Lunch will be provided and include a networking session with conservation partners. Seven continuing education credits will be available to those that qualify.
