To provide resource managers with an understanding of the principles of ecological restoration, including special considerations and information on restoring specific coastal habitats.

Description:
This is a 3 day ecological restoration class taught by Andre Clewell, a national leader on the subject.  Class participants will spend time in the classroom and visit a number of field sites.  Students will learn the principles of ecological restoration including information on restoring specific coastal habitats.

  • Understand the principles of ecological restoration and the attributes of a restored ecosystem;
  • Be able to properly select reference ecosystems;
  •  Explore strategies for monitoring and evaluation; and
  •  Understand the relation of restoration to mitigation and ecosystem management

Mitigation Bank Managers, Natural Resource Managers, State and Federal Agency Personnel, Wetland Professionals and Consultants
